Overview
Assisted living administrators manage, outline, and coordinate services geared toward older adults who may require assistance with eating, bathing, taking medication and other basic functions. In order to be eligible for this program, you must be a Certified Personal Care Home Administrator (PCHA)
Assisted Living Administrators oversee the day-to-day operations of the assisted living facilities and ensure that all staff are providing the best service possible.
Personal Care Home Administrators must take a state-approved course, such as the Penn State Assisted Living Administrator 15-hour training (1.5 CEUs), and pass an exam in order to become certified as an Assisted Living Administrator.
You are also required to attend a free Assisted Living Administrator Orientation by the Department of Human Services before you are considered an Assisted Living Administrator.
